Mr. Nichols joined in partnership with Larry Rute in his firm Associates in Dispute Resolution, LLC in 2004 and retired in 2022.
Until December 2003, Patrick had maintained a litigation practice involving primarily personal injury, employment, and constitutional litigation. He now mediates and arbitrates cases in Kansas and Missouri focusing on the following areas of particular emphasis.
- Insurance Coverage Issues
- Personal injury, including catastrophic injuries
Patrick has mediated over 1,500 cases. He is AV-rated by Matindale Hubbell. Prior to mediation, he was a civil trial attorney, Past President of KTLA and an ATLA delegate. He had been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1994 and is a Kansas Missouri SuperLawyer. He has received advanced training at the Straus Institute at Pepperdine Law School and at the Harvard Negotiation Project. He has trained law students, lawyers and mediators at scores of seminars and workshops including national and international events. He was a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators.
