An interview with Donna Silverberg and Charles Wiggins about mediation, being married to a mediator, and the future of mediation. Recorded and shared as part of the Mediation 20/20 Conference.
 

Biography



Donna Silverberg has been in the field of mediation for over 20 years with more than 1000 hours of training received. She has been an adjunct or visiting professor at the University of Oregon School of Law, Pepperdine University, Hamline University and the University of San Diego. She served as Special Assistant on Dispute Resolution to Governor Kitzhaber's Natural Resources Office, Acting Director of the Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission, and helped design the state's Public Policy Dispute Resolution Program. Donna is a member of the California State Bar, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Oregon Mediation Association. She was on the Oregon Mediation Association Board of Directors from 1998-2005, and served as OMA Board President from 2002-2004.


Charles Wiggins has been wtih DS Consulting since its inception in 1998 serving as lead trainer and consultant. He retired from the University of San Diego in 2008, where he was a Professor of Law with specialties in Negotiation and Mediation, Constitutional Law, and Bioethics since 1975. Professor Wiggins has combined law practice (with Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in Seattle) and public service (as Legislative Counsel to Governor Daniel J. Evans of Washington) with an extensive international training, mediation and consulting practice. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Amsterdam, Lipscomb University's Institute for Conflict Management, Pepperdine University's Institute for Conflict Resolution and the University of San Diego School of Law.
