About Jerald Kessler
Jerald A. Kessler is a “Mediator’s Mediator.” He has dedicated the last 25 years of his professional life to training, teaching, and practicing mediation. He is the former president of the Mediation Council of Illinois, and helped draft the Model Standards of Practice for Family and Divorce Mediation of the American Bar Association.
Jerald Kessler is a trained professional mediator. He is an Advanced Practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and is Certified in Family, Probate and Civil Mediation by the 19thJudicial Circuit in Illinois. He has received training from the Chicago Center for Family Health, and has taken advantage of many other educational opportunities in mediation. He has also done a great deal of teaching about mediation and how to mediate. He is an Adjunct Professor at the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Mr. Kessler obtained his BA and JD from the University of Chicago and was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1973. He is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has been in the private practice of law for over 30 years.
