About DR. VICTORIA DORÉE COLEMAN
Anger Management Expert, Educator, Researcher, Mediator, Entrepreneur
Dr. Victoria Dorée Coleman is an internationally recognized Anger Management Expert, Behavioral Health specialist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Online Professor of Psychology, Counseling, and Human Services. With expertise in distance education and the virtual classroom, she is proficient in ANGEL, Blackboard, eCollege, Moodle, WebCT, and Wimba learning management system (LMS) platforms.
A former tenured professor at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Dr. Coleman has held positions in higher education, mental health, social services, food and beverage, transportation, gaming, and criminal justice, including the State University of New York, Northwestern University, Educational Testing Service, and American Airlines.
She conducts research on anger management, career development, sports psychology, addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder, domestic violence, health psychology, and diverse populations. Dr. Coleman has several national and international refereed publications in these areas, including a book, chapters, journal articles, curriculum guides, and technical reports.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Coleman received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's in U.S. and Latin American History from The University of Iowa; a Master's in Counselor Education from Northern Illinois University; and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University.
Professionally, she is a member of the National Association of Forensic Counselors, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the National Career Development Association, and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy, to name a few. She also conducts Substance Abuse Evaluations for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
As a Certified Anger Management Facilitator (CAMF), Dr. Coleman holds several licenses and certifications, and is the first National Certified Career Counselor, the first and only National Certified Gerontological Counselor, the first and only Diplomate in Sports Counseling, and the first and only Master Career Counselor in Southern Nevada.
A founding member of the International Membership of Professional Advisors, Coaches, and Trainers (IMPACT), Dr. Coleman completed an Internship and is a Certified Federal Mediator for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
In her spare time, Dr. Coleman enjoys travel, sports, all genres of music, and cultural activities.
